FAQs
We do not offer installation services or fabrication. But, we work with the best local fabricationshops who can offer you excellent service. You can request a list of fabricators from one of ourshowrooms and our team can help you find the closest fabricator in your area.
All of our pricing goes through stone fabricators. They’ll send you an estimate that includes thestone slabs, fabrication cost, installation and other costs based on your requirements. If you areworking with a trade professional, such as a builder, general contractor, interior designer or anarchitect, they may already have a fabricator who they use on a regular basis and they shouldbe able to get you an estimate as well.
LuxCore Surfaces offer a complimentary hold for two weeks, allowing you to get your bids from a fabricator of your choice or any trade professional. After two weeks, we require either final confirmation on the order or 50% deposit to continue holding.
No appointments are necessary, you can walk-in anytime during our regular business hours Monday-Saturday.
Quartz is an engineered stone composed of 95% ground, natural quartz stone and 5%manmade materials such as resins and pigments. Whereas, granite is 100% natural stone, mined from the earth and cut and polished for various applications.
LuxCore Surfaces carries Natural Stone, Quartz & Sintered Stone.
A stone fabricator is a professional who can measure, template, and cut stone countertops andother slab project pieces.
We recommend bringing cabinet, paint, flooring, and backsplash samples to help selecting yourstone slabs.
Sealers should not be applied to quartz surfaces under any circumstances. Sealers aredesigned to penetrate the porous surface of natural stone, and LuxCore Quartz is non porous andsealers will leave residue that might be difficult to remove and may damage the surface finish.
Quartz surfacing is a non-porous product (unlike natural stone) and because of this it will notabsorb liquids, wine, oil, or grease that are typically present in the kitchen or bathroomenvironment. Under normal usage, quartz surfacing is highly stain resistant, but not stain proof.
Quartz can be cleaned easily with a mild detergent, water and a soft cloth or paper towel, thenrinse and dry thoroughly. Abrasive cleansers or harsh scouring pads and cleansers that containbleach should not be used with quartz. Engineered stone surfaces do not require polishing tokeep them shiny and smooth, but they should be cleaned gently to maintain their distinctiveshine. Some quartz colors and finishes like honed, matte, etc., are more sensitive to grease orfinger-prints and may require extra care during routine cleaning.
Can I set hot pots directly on the quartz surface?
Each slab of the same color will look the same. If you need multiple slabs, we recommendpurchasing them from the same production batch..This is especially true of the more compact, monochromatic colors. Colors which have more movement and pattern will have slightly morevariation from one batch to the next and some are explicitly manufactured to have a bookmatched pattern. It’s easy to think of quartz surfacing like baking a cake. When a color ismanufactured using the same ingredients each time, by and large the recipe comes out thesame.
The manufacturing process of some colors (especially those with more movement and pattern)cost more, as it is more labor intensive. Also, the actual quartz components have various pricepoints based on color, clarity (much like different grades of diamonds) and availability. Thesedifferent price points and the manufacturing costs are what cause colors to have varying prices.
Quartz is an engineered, man-made product manufactured in a factory by combining elementsof quartz, resin, and pigment. Alternatively, quartzite is a natural stone that forms 100%originally deep within the earth that is extracted in blocks by quarrying.
Quartz is heat resistant, however the resin used to bind the quartz can discolor if heated to avery high temperature. LuxCore Quartz should not be used where it can come into direct contact withthe firebox or flames.
Quartz is UV resistant and perfectly suited to a variety of interior applications, even in roomswhere the surface is exposed to a great deal of sunlight. However, quartz is not suitable forexterior applications. If installed outdoors, quartz surfacing will be subjected to both fading andwarpage.
There are many quartz surfacing brands currently available in the market. LuxCore Quartz is committed to quality and imports from trusted overseas partners. All of our quartz is manufactured using Breton SPA Italian machinery and comes with a 25-year limited warranty.
